JAMMU, June 13: J&K Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized an interactive session with senior officials of Income Tax (IT) Department in association with Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) and Chamber of Retailers Federation (CORF).
Rani Singh Nair, Member (L&S), Central Board of Direct Taxes, was the chief guest and Pradeep R Sethi (IRS), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, NWR Chandigarh, was the guest of honour while Rajendra Kumar, (IRS), Director General Investigation, NWR Chandigarh, was the distinguished guest.
From the Income Tax Department, AK Thathai (IRS), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (J&K), Y R Saini (IRS), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bhatinda, Sushil K Aggarwal (IRS), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax -II, Amritsar and Yogender Chaudhary (IRS), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax-I, Amritsar, BB Singh (IRS), Commissioner of Income Tax, (Appeals) J&K, Alok Kumar, (IRS) Commissioner of Income Tax, (Appeals) Bhatinda, Sandeep Kumar, ( IRS) Commissioner of Income Tax, (Appeals), Amritsar, were also present along with host of other senior officials of the department.
Chairman, J&K Branch, CA Anil Sharma, delivered the inaugural address and after welcoming the guests, submitted a memorandum to the dignitaries highlighting the issues faced by assesses of J&K.
Rakesh Gupta, president, CCI Jammu and Yash Pal Gupta, president, Chamber of Retailers Federation, also spoke on the occasion and while assuring their cooperation to the department highlighted the issues and problems faced by business community of Jammu Region. Both the associations later on submitted respective memorandums to the dignitaries.
CA Deepak Kapahi, vice-chairman, J&K Branch of ICAI, presented vote of thanks. CA Shalay Razdan, CA Dalip Kaul, CA Vikram Garg, CA Sandeep Pachnanda along with a large number of other CAs and officials from Department of Income Tax participated in the seminar.
