JAMMU, July 1: J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today celebrated 73rd CA Day.

The function was graced by Kavinder Gupta, former Speaker J&K as chief guest while CA Sat Sharma, former Cabinet Minister was guest of honour.
The celebrations started with flag hoisting ceremony at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu, which was followed by a tree plantation drive at Jammu Tawi Railway Station in association with Railway Police.
After this, daily need based materials were distributed amongst the children of ‘Muskan Home for Mentally Challenged Children’ at Channi Rama.
Later on donations were also made at Gau Raksha Samiti, Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta while congratulating the Chartered Accountants on CA Day recalled the words of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme wherein the PM had asked the Chartered Accountants to bring Indian audit firms on global level.
Gupta also quoted the PM to say that Chartered Accountants can play a positive role in bringing transparency to the economy.
Sat Sharma lauded the role of Chartered Accountants in general and J&K Branch of ICAI in particular for holding various environmental and social drives continuously during past many years.
CA Vinay Jamwal, Chairman of J&K Branch of ICAI, in his inaugural address welcomed the guests and emphasized on the importance of the Day.
He said that ICAI is a true partner in nation building and has always collaborated with various initiatives of the government and regulatory bodies for facilitating the implementation of various policies and measures directed towards the development of economy of the nation.
CA Nakul Saraf, Vice Chairman; CA Shalay Razdan, Past Chairman; CA Lalit K. Gupta, NICASA Chairman; Arvind Dev Jamwal, Member along with a number of Chartered Accountants took part in the celebrations.
