JAMMU, Aug 14: J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized a seminar on issues in e-TDS, Recent Changes in Tax Audit Report under the Income Tax Act & Issues in Companies Act 2013.
CA Deepak Bholusaria, eminent speaker, from Delhi, was the guest faculty for the first technical session, on the topics of e-TDS & recent changes in Tax Audit Report in form 3 CD under Income Tax Act, 1961.
It is pertinent to mention that Income Tax Department has recently made certain important changes in the Tax Audit report of Business & Professional establishments. He deliberated in detail about such changes viz reporting of non compliances of TDS & registration under Indirect Tax laws, reporting of list of Books of account maintained at various locations, sum received towards EPF & deposit thereof, detail of advertisement expenses etc. He also dwelt upon various issues in e filing of TDS returns.
Later on, in the second technical Session, an investor education program was conducted in association with Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India & issues pertaining to Companies Act 2013.  CS D K Pandoh, was the speaker who deliberated in detail about the newly enacted provisions of the Act & the rules framed there under. He discussed the   new concepts that have been introduced like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), One man Company (OPC), bar on grant of loans to Directors, Acceptance of Deposit Rules etc. He also dwelt upon the various rights available with the investors of Public Companies which can be exercised by them for their protection.
CA  Vikram Garg , chairman J&K Branch, , delivered the inaugural address & while welcoming   the guests ,  emphasized on the importance of the topics of the seminar.
He stressed that the tax audit report has become more exhaustive &   members shall now  have to report various facts & defaults of assesses while discharging their audit function which were not earlier provided by law.
CA  Shalay Razdan , secretary J&K Branch of ICAI , conducted the proceedings  & CA  Anil Sharma (treasurer), presented the vote of thanks.
A large number of Chartered Accountants participated in the seminar.
