JAMMU, Oct 17: Jammu Kashmir Brahman Sabha (JKBS) celebrated Brahman Utkarsh Mahotsav, here today and also announced constitution of Shri Parshuram Sena on the occasion.
Padma Shri Dr Vishwa Murti Shastri, chief patron of Jammu Kashmir Brahman Sabha was the chief guest on the occasion. Pt Rameshwar Sanmotra and Sanjay Ganpatya Shastri were the guest of honour while Vinod Shastri and Anil K Padha graced the event as special guests.
Dr Vishwa Murti Shastri announced the core committee and office bearers of Jammu Kashmir Brahman Sabha in the presence of all community members. He along with other distinguished guests, also unveiled the logo of Parshuram Sena, body of which was declared by Kiran Kumar Sharma, General Secretary, JKBS.
In his address, Dr Vishwa Murti Shastri called upon the youth to take part and lead the welfare cause of society. He asked the Brahmins to learn Brahmantatva to assert their identity in the society and recall the history of Brahmans, their contribution in building a value based society and nation at large.
Atul Sharma, President, JK Brahman Sabha, said it is our prime duty to work for the emancipation of Brahman community which has been neglected by all and it’s high time for all of us to assert our identity and establish ourselves in all spheres of life and become valuable asset for society and nation at large.
On the occasion, the chief guest honoured Utpal Shastri for his relentless effort in bringing the youth together and given the responsibility of heading the Parshuram Sena.
The distinguished guests who graced the occasion, included Jagmohan Sharma, Chairman JKPDSCL; Sat Pal Sharma, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region; Dr Shiv Prasad Raina, O P Sharma (Retd BSF Commandant)
The office bearer of JKBS included Avtar Krishan, Ashwani Sharma, Vir Vikram Aditya and Viketeshwar Sanmotra (Vice-Presidents), Deepak Khajuria and Kiran Kumar Sharma (General Secretaries), Varun Sharma (Treasurer) and Honey Patiyad (Secretary). The Parshuram Sena comprised of Utpal Shastri as President, Aditya Sharma, Nitin Sharma and Pragun Sharma as Vice-Presidents, Shivansh Sharma as Organizational General Secretary, Rakshit Sharma as General Secretary. Aman Sharma, Shubham Sharma and Lakshdeep Sharma as Secretary, Kunal Sharma, Rinku Sharma as Secretary and executive members.
Vote of thanks was presented by Deepak Khajuria while proceedings of the event were conducted by Kiran Kumar Sharma.
