Excelsior Correspondent Srinagar, Dec 10: Jammu and Kashmir born British citizen, Brig Sohail Nasti, has been invited to the Friends of Syria Meet to be held in Morocco on December 12 that is likely to be attended by the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The Friends of Syria meeting provides an opportunity to interact with like-minded Governments in the region and around the world on how best to continue support for the Syrian opposition and on efforts to end the bloodshed, said a statement of the US State Department. Brig Dr Sohail Nasti is amongst the few strong hold Western professionals who oppose Assad regime. Nasti was attacked by the Syrian intelligence during an official visit in September. He, however, survived the attack and had to spend more than a month in the hospital. Brig Sohail is doing a lot of lobbying and advocacy to highlight the atrocities on Syrian civilians. Dr Sohal was born in Anantnag, Kashmir. He did his MBBS from Srinagar and went abroad for further studies. He is CEO of Mother Helpage Worldwide, a charity doing commendable work in more than twenty countries.
