SRINAGAR, July 22: J&K Bank organised meeting of sub-committee of State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) for export promotion, which was chaired by Executive President of the Bank, OP Sharma.
During the meeting, wide range of issues including setting up of Inland Container Depot (ICD), Brand certification of Kashmir made products, setting up of Pashmina Testing Laboratory and providing of liberal finance to the artisans and weavers at concessional rate of interest were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Nayeemullah, President, A&AP, J&K Bank, Ravinder Koul, Asstt General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Karanjit Singh, Asstt Vice-President FEBD, J&K Bank, M Muazzam, MD SIDCO, P Saibabu, Asstt Director General of Foreign Trade, Farooq Ahmad, Joint Director Handicrafts, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, President FCIK, Shiekh Ashiq, senior vice president KCCI and the representatives of ECGC and banks operating in J&K.
M Muazzam informed that work on Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Srinagar is almost complete and they in coordination with KCCI intend to commission it soon.
Joint Director Handicrafts informed that Brand Certification of Kashmir made products and Pashmina Testing Laboratory facilities will be commissioned in a month time.
Ravinder Koul suggested that innovative designs and products should be launched in consultation with some qualified agency to promote sale of Kashmir made products.
