JAMMU, Aug 26: An awareness cum Financial Literacy Camp was conducted by the J&K Bank Branch office Karan Bagh, Jammu, at Panchayat Ghar Bhour (West), Ward No. 2, Bhour Camp, Jammu.
The camp was attended by Arjun Singh Rathore, Branch Head J&K Bank Karan Bagh; Ramesh Koul, Financial Literacy Coordinator J&K Bank Baldev Billoria, ex Sarpanch; Kirpal Singh, Chairman Cantonment Board; Harbans Choudhary, Balvinder Singh, Pitamber Sharma and Rajesh Mohan Datt, Manager Credit J&K Bank Karan Bagh.
In his address, Arjun Singh Rathore appraised the gathering about the Banking sectors with emphasis on various Government sponsored loan schemes like PMEGP, ACC, KCC, DRI, Mudra Loans , DEDS, Seed Capital-JKEDI, other loans offered by the Bank, e.g., Education loan, Housing loan, Transport Loan, Mortgage loan, Easy Working Capital etc.
The latest schemes of the Government of India, ‘Stand up India’, was also discussed on the occasion by highlighting its objective of creating employment and promoting entrepreneurship among SC, ST and women.
The benefits of various social security schemes under Financial Inclusion Programme, such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) to provide social security in terms of life and accidental insurance to the beneficiaries, were also highlighted.
The benefits of RuPay card issued under PMJDY with an inbuilt insurance cover, and “Ladli Beti” (LB) schemes were shared by the speakers, who also request the public to make judicious use of the bank loans for the purpose it were availed.
Apart from these schemes, various deposits schemes provided by the Bank, e.g., Recurring Deposit, Fixed Deposit, Monthly Yield Deposit Scheme were also explained in detail.
Ramesh Koul explained all the schemes and also addressed to some queries raised by the participants, who included women and young ones.
In the end, Pitamber Sharma presented a welcome address.
