J&K Bank organises financial literacy camps across State

JAMMU/ SRINAGAR, Dec 28: To sensitize the people from far flung areas about matters related to finances, J&K Bank organised various financial literacy camps across the State.
At Kathua, the bank conducted a one-day ‘Financial Inclusion and Literacy’ camp at Nagri Parole, which was attended by a large number of people including traders, farmers, senior citizens and local residents.
The programme was inaugurated by LDO (RBI) Jammu Satbir Singh Beniwal inaugurated the camp in presence of the bank’s Cluster Head  Kathua Suresh Kotwal, AVP Kathua Kapileshwar Dogra,  DDM, NABARD Aman Kalsotra, LBO Kathua, RK Kalsotra, and Head Business Unit Nagri, Parole Ajit Singh Samyal.
Satbir Singh Beniwal stressed upon the need of having at least one account of every rural household in any bank.
Cluster Head urged all the members to open no-frill accounts to their advantage.
At Kupwara, Lead Bank Office Kupwara and Branch Unit Wavoora, FLCC Kupwara organized a financial literacy camp at Cheepora Lolab which was attended by a cross section of people from Cheepora, Kuligam and adjoining areas.
Facilitator FLCC spoke in detail with various people friendly deposit and loan schemes.
The bank’s senior Executive Manager GM Najar stressed upon the implementation of Women Self Help Groups scheme.
At Poonch, FLCC organized an awareness camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhatadurian. Vice Principal Munir Hussain presided over the camp, which was attended by students and staff members of the school.
Facilitator, FLCC Kuldeep Kumar deliberated on the saving habits and its advantage to the students and asked them to open their accounts at their nearest bank branches.
Lead District Manager, Mohammad Shafi Ayaz explained the importance of financial literacy and credit counseling. A quiz session was also conducted wherein the participants were presents.
At Baramulla, FLCC organised an awareness camp at Madina High School in village Baliharan, Singhpora in collaboration with the bank’s Branch Unit Mirgund. Facilitator FLCC Mohammad Sultan Dar deliberated upon Kisan Credit Card scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks.
Director RSETI Baramulla and Head Branch Unit Mirgund also expressed their views.
