J&K Bank opens ATM in Ramban, holds camps in Anantnag, Poonch

Srinagar, Nov 14: J&K Bank today pressed an ATM into public service at Maitra in Ramban besides shifting the Business Unit Maitra to state-of-the-art premises.
DDC Ramban Farooq Ahmed Shah Bukhari inaugurated the ATM and new premises in presence of SDM Gool Zameer Ahmed Reshu, Bank’s Cluster Head Jammu (N) Iqbal Singh, Head B.U Maitra Verinder Gupta, Head B.U Ramban Shashi Sharma, Incharge (Camp Office), Zonal Office-Doda Shamim Akhtar besides a large number of valuable customers, senior citizens and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Ramban thanked the bank management for the ATM and appreciated the bank’s outreach efforts to provide easy and hassle free banking facilities to the people of the area.
The role of J&K Bank in boosting the economy of the local area and upliftment of the living standard of the people is too obvious to be stated, he said.
It is 9th ATM of the bank in Ramban district.
Meanwhile, the Bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling centre Anantnag organized a financial literacy camp at Kanelwan in association with the bank’s B.U at Govt. High School Kanelwan in Block Dachinipora.  Lead District Manager Anantnag, Facilitator FLCC, Director RSETI Anantnag, Principal of the school and J&K SES Counselor were present at the camp besides a good number of locals including students, unemployed youth, senior citizens and other residents.
Director RSETI briefed the audience about role of Institute and urged them to avail its benefits as it not only provided opportunity for skill development and entrepreneurship but also provide credit linkage and handholding for a period of two years to the trained candidates.
An awareness camp was also organized by FLCC Poonch at Kalaban, a far flung village in block Mendhar.
Facilitator FLCC spoke in detail about the PMJDY and urged the audience to open their accounts in the nearest branches of the banks so that they can avail benefits of the scheme besides other deposit and lending schemes of the banks.
Apprising the participants about the virtues of saving habit, he said that the saved money kept with banks is not only safe but earns interest also.
The participants were also made aware about the necessity of having a bank account in view of the direct transfer of social benefits.
