J&K Bank holds awareness camps

SRINAGAR, July 1: J&K Bank FLCC Centre Pulwama organized a financial literacy camp at village ‘Cheki Badri Nath’ in co-ordination with the local Business Unit at Drabgam.
The camp was attended by a large number of people from the village and its adjoining areas including growers, traders and students.
Lead District Officer (RBI) R L Kothar, LDM Pulwama, NABARD representative, BDO Shadi-Marg block and Officer from B.U Drabgam attended the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, facilitator FLCC informed the audience about the purpose of conducting such camps.
Stressing upon the need to start making early savings out of the incremental incomes, they earn, he explained to audience the benefits of savings, the ways of making monthly budgets and financial planning.
Lead District Officer RBI spoke about the importance of financial inclusion and practically explained the differences between genuine and fake currency notes.
LDM Pulwama, BDO Shadi-Marg and NABARD representative also spoke on the occasion.
The participants appreciated the efforts of the bank and requested for organizing such literacy programmes in other villages of the block.
Meanwhile, FLCC Bandipore conducted many such camps at Panaar, Athwatoo, Wanpora, Gurez and Budugam Tulail villages in the district, wherein the villagers dealing with agricultural & handicrafts business were made aware about various schemes of the bank especially KCC, Dastakar and Craft Development finance.
The awareness programme conducted at village Wanpora Gurez was also attended by the Deputy Director Handicrafts Department, Bandipora.
An awareness programme was also conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Boys (Dawer), Government Higher Secondary School Girls (Dawer), Government Higher Secondary School Purana Tulail and Government Higher Secondary School Budugam Tulail where in the teachers as well as the students were briefed about the various deposit and advance products of the Bank especially Child Care Deposit and Education loan scheme of the Bank.
The awareness camps were also attended by Lead District Manager Bandipora.
