J&K approach Centre for setting up Mother-Care-Hospital at Reasi

SRINAGAR: The State Government today sent a proposal worth Rs 68 crore to centre for establishment of Mother and Childcare Hosital (MCH) at Reasi in Jammu province, Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Asiea Naqash said.

She said in reply  in the Legislative Council (LC) here. She said the Department has already submitted a proposal worth Rs 68 crore to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, for establishment of Mother and Childcare Hospital (MCH) at Reasi under National Health Mission 2016-17 and the approval of same is awaited.

The Minister added that “in case funds are not released within three months, repair and renovation work on old Reasi Hospital building would be taken up to cater to Mother and child Care needs.” She said the construction work on new District Hospital Reasi spread over an area of 118 kanals of land is in full swing and the OPD Block has also been completed wherefrom hospital is currently functioning.

She said the new hospital will have a facility of 12 beds for Mother and Child Care. Regarding the staff she added that 60 posts including 17 Specialists and other medical and para-medical staff for Mother and Care facilities have been created and sent to Finance Department for approval.

Ms Naqash said the Government is working on a proposal to build a model hospital and MCH in every district across the State, which will give a big relief to people. (AGENCIES)
