JJSF begins 3-day fast as tribute to student martyrs

JAMMU, Oct 16: To observe `Black Days’ and pay tribute to the student martyrs of 1966, who had sacrificed their lives for  shifting of Agricultural University from Srinagar to Jammu,  Jammu Joint Students Federation began its three-day fast at Shahidi Sthal in front of GGM Science College, Jammu.
Principals of SPMR College of Commerce, MAM College and Vice-Principal of the GGM Science College visited the Memorial and showered their blessings on the fast observing JJSF activists, who include Sukhbinder Singh, Clintion Sharma, Sandeep Singh and Vishal Jamwal.
A number of students assembled at the venue and recalled the supreme sacrifice of martyr Gurcharan Singh, Subash Chandra, Gulshan Handa and Brij Mohan, who were killed in Police firing on students.
Among those, who addressed on the occasion, included JJSF president Jatinder Chib,   Rahul Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sachin Manhas, Abhinandan Chib, Aakash Singh, Narinder Singh and others.
Meanwhile, JKNPP leader Prof Bhim Singh today announced that activists of National Panthers Students Union would pay tributes to the student martyrs tomorrow by taking oath for establishment of Jammu State.
