JAMMU, Feb 22: An extension lecture on the theme ‘Healthy Lifestyles’, was organized in the Government Degree College Jindrah wherein students, who had participated in different events, were presented awards, including cash prizes.
Dr Sonali Gupta, who was the resource person on the occasion, enlightened the students on different aspects of physical health. She discussed in detail as to how to remain healthy by not only following little things in their daily routine but also taking different items of healthy food. She stressed that the young generation should avoid junk food as far as possible as such kind of food has emerged as one of the basic causes of many modern day ailments.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session between students and the resource person.
Earlier, the college Principal, Dr Nutan Resutra presented a welcome address and said that the students are the messengers who carry these meaningful messages to their houses, villages and towns, spreading light of knowledge among those who are unaware as yet. He further said that the college would keep on organizing such activities so that the students are able to get opportunities for their overall development besides studies.
