JAMMU, Aug 9 : Jonaraja Institute of Genocide and Atrocities Studies (JIGAS) and Puttige Sri Krishna Mutt Udupi, Karnataka forge an alliance for Cultural and Research Collaboration between the two organizations.
A significant meeting of two organizations took place here, today, between Chairman JIGAS Tito Ganju and Gopal Acharya, the Director of Research at Puttige Sri Krishna Mutt, Udipi. The purpose of the meeting was to foster a partnership between the two institutions, aiming to advance research and cultural initiatives.
During the meeting, Gopal Acharya was presented with “Pavak Vimarsh,” the annual yearbook of JIGAS, symbolizing the commencement of a collaborative relationship. In reciprocation, Gopal Acharya extended a formal invitation to Ganju for the upcoming Krishan Janamahotsav celebrations at Udipi, emphasizing the mutual respect and shared cultural values between the two institutions.
Gopal Acharya also took the opportunity to interact with the prominent residents of the genocide victims in Jagiti migrant camp including Bhushan Lal Bhat, Veerji Belove, Pranji Pandita, Bittuji Bhat, Sonu Kaul and Ravi Raina. This interaction highlighted the ongoing efforts of both JIGAS and the Puttige Sri Krishna Mutt in addressing and supporting the needs of those affected by historical atrocities.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to organize and carry out joint programmes, leveraging the strengths and expertise of both JIGAS and the Puttige Krishna Mutt. This alliance is expected to lead to significant contributions in the fields of cultural preservation, genocide studies, and community support.
The collaboration marks a new chapter in the efforts to combine academic research with cultural enrichment, providing a platform for shared learning and development.
