NEW DELHI, Nov 20: Jeera prices moved up by 1.18 per cent to Rs 12,465 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market.
Besides, restricted arrivals from producing belts supported the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December rose by Rs 145, or 1.18 per cent to Rs 12,465 per quintal with an open interest of 6,882 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in January next year traded higher by Rs 130, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 12,640 per quintal in 2,379 lots.
Analysts said apart from rising demand in the spot market, tight supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in jeera prices at futures trade. (PTI)
