NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Jeera prices traded higher by 0.42 per cent to Rs 19,265 per quintal in futures trading today as participants increased their bets amid pick up in demand at the spot market.
In addition, reports of fall in arrivals from Gujarat too fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August moved up by Rs 80, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 19,265 per quintal, with an open interest of 408 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in September was trading higher by Rs 40, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 19,560 per quintal in 15,222 lots.
Traders said widening of positions due to pick up in domestic market as well as export demand in the spot market, mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade. (PTI)
