JAMMU, July 16: Questio-ning the eagerness of State Government to introduce the Kashmiri language, Jammu Development Council (JDC) has expressed serious concern and dismay on the dangerous move at changing the very culture and demography of Jammu province.
In a statement issued to the press, JDC president, Inderjeet Khajuria, doubted the hidden intentions of Kashmir centric Coalition Government and pointed out the deliberate neglect of Dogri language (already included in 8th schedule of languages) in view of the fact that out of 46 degree colleges there is no Dogri lecturer in as many as 27 colleges of Jammu province.
Coming out heavily on the recent Government order number 399/HE of 2017 dated 04-07-2017 issued by the Government to convert 74 existing posts of assistant lecturers in other languages to Kashmiri language for posting in Jammu province, Khajuria said that at the cost of other languages the conversion of posts is totally prejudicial and speaks loudly about the mal intention of Kashmir centric Government.
Khajuria said that in 46 Jammu Degree Colleges, where already 27 Dogri lecturers are short, Government move to post 74 assistant lecturers in Kashmir language is totally biased and speaks volume of jeopardy and decades old discrimination.
Mentioning about the criminal silence and support of BJP ministers and MLAs on the issue, Khajuria expressed disappointment on their shameless role as against the massive mandate extended by Jammuites to historic figure of 25 MLAs.
Strongly opposing the move of Government to create 74 posts of lecturers in Kashmiri language for posting in Jammu province colleges, Kamal Gupta, JDC chairman, said that the State Government has adopted dictatorial attitude to enforce teaching of Kashmiri language to decimate the Dogri language and Dogra culture. He said it is very well planned conspiracy to erode the very identity of Dogras.
