JDAEU to begin 2-day strike today

JAMMU, Mar 29: JDA Employees’ Union (JDAEU), Jammu, has decided to observe complete strike in all sections of JDA offices on March 30 and 31 in support of their demands while the JDA Employees and Workers’ Union (JDAEWU) has also pressed the VC, JDA for redressing their demands.
As per release issued by the Union, there will be complete strike in all sections of JDA offices on March 30 and 31 in support of their demands. “Moreover, the drivers of the department will not ply their vehicle on these two days”, the release said.
The union has been holding protest since March 22 in front of the office of Vice Chairman (VC), JDA, in support of their demands, which included regularization of consolidated, contractual, casual and daily rated workers, who have completed seven years of service.
The other demands of the union are grade to the helpers, 10% quota of plots/quarters to the JDA employees in the newly carved out colonies and enhancement of FTA for the field staff.
Meanwhile, in its general body meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Rajinder Kumar, JDAEWU has also expressed resentment over the delaying tactics of the State Government and JDA authorities regarding regularization of casual labourers and consolidated workers and has urged upon the VC, JDA, to settle the burning demands of casual labourers and consolidated workers.
