JCMS to honour meritorious students, sports persons of Mahajan community

JAMMU, Mar 21: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) will organize a function on 2nd April (Sunday) at 11 AM at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu to honour meritorious students, sports persons and newly selected officers under Central and State civil services, of the Mahajan community.
This was disclosed by president of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, Romesh Chander Gupta, while addressing a press conference, here today. He appealed the Mahajan Community members of the Union Territory to participate with zest and zeal in large number to make the programme a great success.
Gupta further informed that the date of submission of applications in respect of meritorious students of class 10th and above, sports persons and newly selected officers under Central and State civil services who brought laurels to the Mahajan community for honoring in the function, have been extended up to March 23. He said for any query, community members can contact Sanjay Mahajan (general secretary), Subash Gupta (vice president) and Surinder Gupta (vice president).
While welcoming the decision of the Smart City Limited to decorate and electrify 11 well located places in the Jammu City on the occasion of Shri Amar Nath Yatra, the JCMS president said it is a matter of dismay that two similar important places viz. Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Park situated at Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road and statue of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan erected at High Court Junction Jammu have been neglected for the reasons well known to the concerned authorities. He appealed for the inclusion of these two important public places in the lighting programme on the occasion of Shri Amar Nath Yatra.
