JAMMU, June 15: Expressing anger over recent back to back four terror attacks in different districts of Jammu region, senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jayesh Gupta today appealed to the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive steps to ensure such terror attacks are not repeated.
Addressing a press conference here today, Jayesh Gupta said through these cowardly acts sponsored by it, Pakistan wanted to create fear psychosis among the devotees of Shri Amarnath Yatra which is about to commence soon but they will fail in this mission.
“Further, the neighbouring country wants to disrupt the upcoming State Assembly elections in J&K, particularly after peaceful Lok Sabha elections, and that is why terror attacks have increased in the otherwise peaceful Jammu region,” he added.
Gupta said a ray of hope had emerged after the scrapping of Article 370, but it seems extremists are still active. Pakistan is clearly behind all these terror attacks,” he said, adding, by committing back to back terror attacks in the Jammu region, the terrorists have challenged the sovereignty of the country.
The AAP leader said that any attack on unity and integrity of the nation is unwarranted and undesirable and must be responded with an apt reply. He said the sovereignty of the country must always be upheld by foiling such attacks.
Jayesh called these attacks “cowardly and unpardonable” and urged the Central Government to take decisive and strict steps to wipe out the terrorists and terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded an exemplary punishment to perpetrators so that it acts as a deterrent for others in the future.
