JAMMU, Feb 5: Prominent film producer & director and a social activist from Jammu, Jayesh Gupta today continued its massive campaign against drug abuse by organizing a massive awareness rally in collaboration with Maharishi Vidhya Mandir School (MVMS) located at Sainik Colony.
Soon after the morning assembly, the rally started from the School premises and after passing through nearby localities culminated back in the School premises. Hundreds of students of the School participated in the Rally.
Holding placards and banners in their hands, the students were spreading the message of “Say No to Drugs” and “Say Yes to Sports”. The rally was led by Jayesh Gupta and was also attended by teachers and other staff members of the School.
Interacting with the media persons during the rally, Jayesh Gupta said he started campaign against drug menace in the first week of November and since then he has organized rallies with various schools like Rainbow Public School, Siras Public School, International Daily Rising School etc.
Jayesh said that he will keep organizing such rallies frequently so as to bring awareness among the youth of Jammu regarding repercussions of drug abuse. He stated that drug menace has increased a lot in the last 5 years in J&K and to get rid of this menace, all stakeholders will have to come together.
Reeta Sharma, Principal of Mahavir Vidya Mandir School, said that the message “Say No to Drugs” and “Say Yes to Sports” needs to be spread among the society by every responsible citizen to root out drug menace from the UT. He said due to rising unemployment, our youth are going towards drugs and it is our moral duty to keep them away from drugs and take them towards sports.
