SAMBA, Dec 30: An Army jawan was killed after his swift car met an accident at near 70 Miles Hotel in Vijaypur 10 kms from here late last night. He has been identified as Dilber Singh alias Vicky, 30, son of Khajoor Singh of Chatrogam Tral in Pulwama district of Kashmir.
Police said that the swift car which the army jawan was driving turned turtle near 17 Miles Hotel in Vijaypur after the driver lost control over the steering resulting into his instant death. He was however shifted by police to Vijaypur Emergency Hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead. Later the body was shifted to Ramgarh Hospital for postmortem. The Vijaypur Police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
The police said the family members of the deceased have been informed.
In another incident one motorcyclist was injured today after his bike was hit by a three wheeler near NPP Office at Samba. The injured was identified as Gara Singh, 28, son of Chan Singh of Hari Chak Hiranagar in Kathua district. He was firsts shifted to DH Samba where from doctors referred him to GMC Jammu. Samba police ahs registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
