RAJOURI, July 14: A deputation of local residents of Jawahar Nagar near ARTO Office today met Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Deepti Uppal and apprised her about the problems being faced by them in absence of drainage system.
Local residents including Chander Parkash Sharma, Mohinder Lal Sharma, PK Sharma and Ashwani Kumar apprised her that in absence of a proper drainage system, people are suffering badly and water enters inside their houses and damage property during rainfall. They also said that finding themselves in a state of helplessness, locals of the area have constructed brick walls in front of their gates so as to prevent movement of water inside their houses.
They also urged DC to sanction a project for the construction of a deep central drain in the area and to hand over the project either to PWD or to R&B instead of Municipal Committee Rajouri.
DC assured that the problem being faces by the locals of the area is well in the notice of administration and steps are being taken to find some permanent solution of the problem. She also issued on spot directions to ADDC Veeri Ji Hangloo and CPO Hamid Chowdhary to prepare a project report and submit the same within next few days so that steps could be taken to find a solution of the problem in the area.
