MENDHAR, June 28: Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Javed A Rana today laid the foundation stone of a model village at Chungan in block Mendhar. The model village will be developed by the Rural Development Department at an estimated cost of Rs 111.85 lakh.
Congratulating the people on the occasion, Mr Rana said that Government is according focused attention to the development of rural and border areas of the State and several flagship schemes and developmental programmes have been launched to improve the socio-economic profile of the people. He said that creating new administrative units is major initiative of the government to ensure development of all the regions and bringing the administration closer to the people.
Mr Rana said that these administrative units would soon be made functional and also the Government has constituted a committee to look into the demands for some left out administrative units. He assured the people that their demands for administrative units and model villages will be taken into consideration.
Mr Rana said that the Government has taken major initiatives in the field of health, education, power and other sectors to ensure basic amenities to the people of rural areas, he exhorted the active participation of the people in the development process.
