JAMMU, Sept 18: Minister of State for R&B, Agriculture, Health and Medical Education, Javed Ahmed Dar today asked the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Public Works Department to complete all the ongoing works in a time bound manner.
Mr Javed was reviewing the progress of ongoing development projects being taken up by ERA, NBCC and PWD in the City of Temples at an officers meeting convened at Summer Secretariat.
District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Tehseen Mustafa, SE, Jammu-Kathua Circle, P L Bhushan , General Manager, NBCC, Hem Raj Sharma, Project Manager ERA, J G Mengi, Executive Engineer, R & B, Const. Division-II, Nasir Goni, Dy Project Manager ERA besides senior officers and engineers were also present on the occasion.
The Minister instructed the ERA authorities to display the board specifying the date of completion of different components of a particular work.
The Minister took stock of the construction work on Rehari-Subash Nagar-Sarwal road, Bakshinagar-Gurha Morh-Pawan Ice Cream road and Toph Bridge to RRL road. He directed ERA to complete restoration work on the road up to WBM specification by 15th October 2012. He also asked the concerned agencies to complete road from Vishal Mega Mart to Gurha Morh by 25th of September and Gurha Morh to Pawan Ice Cream by 15th October, 2012.
The Minister was apprised of various works being done by NBCC like laying of sewer line from DC Office Rotary to 2nd Tawi Bridge via Gujjar Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Javed said that the Government recognizes the difficulties being faced by the public due to delay in completion of these vital works and measures are being taken up to overcome the shortcomings in this regard.
Emphasizing close coordination among all concerned agencies, Mr. Javed asked the officers and engineers to make sure that utilities are shifted in time bound manner for timely completion of roads getting delayed due to such small things.
On the occasion, various deputations called on the Minister and apprised him of their problems and demands as well.
A deputation of non-gazzetted agriculture association led by its President Arun Gupta and Ex-President Sanjeev Misra demanded regular basis DPC and promotions. Besides, a deputation from Sidhra and adjoining area of Jammu city apprised him of the difficulties faced by them.
The Minister assured that all their issues will be looked into for early redressal.
