JAMMU, Jan 5: Janmotsav of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda was celebrated by devotees of Yogoda Satsang Society of India with reverential fervour and gaiety at Yogoda Satsang Dhyan Kendra, here.
The day started with recitation of cosmic chants and progression of Prabhat Pheri in adjoining areas which culminated at Yogoda Satsang Dhyana Kendra (YSDK), Jammu–acting as nodal centre of Yogoda Satsang Society of India/Self Realization Fellowship, USA established by Sri Sri Paramhansa Yoganandaji to preach scientific techniques of God communion through Kriya Yoga.
During the celebrations, more than two hundred devotees enthusiastically participated in meditation, spiritual teachings and were impressed upon practicing of Kriya Yoga to strike the balance between material aspirations and spiritual enlightenment.
Free books and literature were distributed among devotees and function culminated with community fest.
Paramahansa Yogananda considered as father of modern yoga founded Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) in 1917 and his incredible literary master piece ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ introduced the truth-seekers all over the world to instrumentality of Kriya Yoga meditation for God communion.
Paramahansa Yogananda advocated the universality of Kriya Yoga to create spiritually harmonious lives and to contribute to a more compassionate and peaceful world.
