Janmashtami celebrated in various schools of Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 18: Janmashtami- the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety by various schools in their premises a day before the Janmashtami, here today.
Toddlers of the Little Kingdom of The Shri Ram Universal School celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami, an annual commemoration of the birth of the Hindu deity Lord Krishna, the eighth Avatar of Lord Vishnu in the School Campus by organising different activities. The programme was witnessed by Col VK Sharma (Retd), Principal TSUS Jammu and staff members of the School.
Doon International School celebrated Janmashtami with great mirth and gaiety. The celebration started with an alluring musical act carried out by the Kindergarten students, followed by a speech was presented by one of the students. The students came attired up as Krishna and Radha and took out an impressive procession and danced cheerfully on the songs pictured for Lord Krishna.
Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp and festivity by the tiny-tots of NIDAAN Kids Playway School Shastri Nagar Jammu, wherein students were dressed as Radha and Krishna. The little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebrations when they danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, filling the air with joy and festive spirit. A lot of fun-filled activities like painting, nail art, tambola, tattoo-making, selfie corner, magic pot were organised during the event.
A splendidly colourful programme was organized by the Tiny Toddlers of Stephens International Public School to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of camphor and the jingle of bells filled the air in the function. The function was presided over by the Vice Chairperson Amarjit Singh, Director Satvinder Saini and Trustee Kunal Saini.
A colourful programme was organised by SD Tara Puri High School Gandhi Nagar to celebrate Janmashtami in its premises wherein Bhagat Singh House participated in various activities like skits, dance, speeches, bhajan etc.
Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar celebrated Janmashtami with great zeal and zest in the School premises, wherein students presented colourful singing and dance performances highlighting the life of Lord Krishna. All the kids of junior wing were beautifully attired as little Krishna and Radha.
Enhancing the significance of celebrating important days, a function was organized to mark the birthday of Lord Krishna at Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar. The celebration consisted of mirthful performances by the students and staff members of middle wing including dances, enactments, bhajan recitation etc.
Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar also celebrated Shri Krishna Janmasthami with religious fervor, in which kids of the primary wing came dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha. Students of High Wing dressed as Nandbaba carrying little Krishna in the cane basket. The school was well decorated with handmade items prepared by staff members and students.
The event was also celebrated at Delhi Public School Udhampur with mirth and joy, wherein the students dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha, complete with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Jhankis depicting the life history of Lord Krishna.
Rich Harvest School celebrated the pious festival of Janmashtami with reverence and devotion. In a special assembly the divinity of Lord Krishna was venerated through mesmerizing shlokas, bhajans, dances and poetic rendition, followed by tiny tots enthralled the audience with their performances.
Krishan Janmashtami was celebrated by students of BOMIS Jammu in the School Premises, wherein the little ones gave a traditional touch to the entire celebrations when they danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, filling the air with joy and festive spirit.
The event was also celebrated by the students of Universal Higher Secondary School Shama Check with great enthusiasm wherein the student performed various cultural activities.
The event was celebrated with full fervor in the premises of NITL Udhampur, wherein students performed dance and acts to show various aspects of Lord Krishna, followed by prizes were also distributed among the winners of the event including best performers.
To enhance the significance of important days, a function was organized to mark the birth of Lord Krishna at Crescent Public School Janipur. Puja was also performed by the Principal and staff, followed by a dance performance presented by girl students.
The Janmashtami was also celebrated with great pomp at Bal Bharti School Channi Himmat wherein students performed various activities during the event.
Unique Public Higher Secondary School celebrated the birthday of Lord Krishna in the School premises in which students staged various cultural programmes in the attire of Lord Krishna and Radha.
The event was celebrated in the School with great pomp and show at IDPS Akhnoor wherein ID Soni-a renowned educationist was the chief guest. The programme started with lightening of lamps, followed by a series of cultural programmes presented by students.
Students of Aroma Foundation Public School Lower Roop Nagar Jammu celebrated Janmashtami with great devotion and enthusiasm, wherein students of different classes were dressed as Krishna and Radha who performed various cultural programs under the guidance of Vice Principal Kamal Sharma.
