Janamashtami, Teacher’s Day celebrated with zeal & fervour

JAMMU, Sept 5: Janamashtami and Teacher’s Day was celebrated with zeal and fervour.
A function was organized today at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, to celebrate Janamashtami as well as Teacher’s Day. Prof GM Bhat, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus was the chief guest. Some students threw light on the life of Dr Radha Krishnan, first President of India followed by songs and dance items. The students had also arranged the surprise events for the teachers from various departments. The teachers also guided the students and encouraged them for the hard work for the better future.
The students of Government Degree College (GDC) Gool celebrated Teacher’s day with pomp and show in the college premises. A symposium was also organized on the topic “Necessity of women education & women empowerment” in which 20 students of various schools and colleges of Gool participated. Dr Chander Shekhar, Principal of the college, was the chief guest on this occasion.
On the eve of Teacher’s Day, a grand function was organized at GDC Kangan. The function was inaugurated by Principal of the College, Prof A R Dar who explained the objective of celebrating the Teacher’s Day. Students also spoke on the occasion, while others performed various cultural activities to pay tributes to their Teachers.
Government Post Graduate College Rajouri celebrated Teacher’s Day by conducting regular series of lectures for the students of the College from September 1 to 5 under the patronage of Prof SH Shah, the Principal. While concluding the series of Lectures, Prof S H Shah emphasized on all the fellow institutions to dedicate at least one week to the exposition of a teachers’ image to the people with the proper scanning of the disdainful deeds of the modern teachers around.
Himalayan College Rajouri celebrated Teacher’s Day. The programe was chaired by Kuldip Raj Gupta, Vice Chairman, Pahari Advisory Board, where as Choudhary Qamar Hussain, MLA Rajouri presided over the function. Vibodh Gupta MLC, Choudhary Talib Hussain, Former MP and Mushtaq Bukhari, Former Minister were also present. An intra-college symposium on the role of teachers in shaping the young minds was also organized in which Nidhi Verma, Tanveer Ahmed , Sobia Lone and Surbhi Gupta got first, second and third prize respectively.
Aakash Institute of Para Medical Sciences, Udhampur celebrated Teacher’s Day. The management, staff and students presented speeches on the importance of the day. Chairman Dr Aakash was also present.
Bhaskar Degree College celebrated Teacher’s Day. The function was inaugurated by Chairperson Madhu Sharma, whileas Chief Patron of the college Ashok Khajuria, Principal Prof Shukham Chand, Principal of Bhaskar Degree College Prof P L Suri, members of management and faculty. Students presented cultural programme for the teachers.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Model Institute of Education, Akhnoor. A special assembly was conducted, wherein speeches were presented by the students and teachers. Principal threw light on the importance of the day.
KC Public School celebrated Teacher’s Day in both the junior wings of the school at special morning assemblies. In the senior school function, students presented a rich variety entertainment programme. Amarendra Mishra, Principal threw light on the importance of the day.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri celebrated Teacher’s Day. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and staff members were present on the occasion. The senior classes took charge of handling of the whole school with full responsibility. During the assembly, students spoke for building a strong relationship between the teacher and the student.
Tableaux depicting life and teachings of Lord Krishna were taken out in the main bazaar of Sunderbani by the students of Harsh Niketan Higher Secondary School.
Nav Yug Higher Secondary School celebrated Teacher’s Day. The students of higher class taught the students of primary and middle wing. A cultural programme was also presented. Hardev Singh Jamwal, Managing Director, Principal Preetika Jamwal and staff members were present on the occasion.
Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School celebrated Teacher’s Day and Janamashtami. Students presented cultural items. Kewal Krishan Khajuria, Managing Director and Ved Parkash, retd ZEO were also present.
The students of Popular Model High School, Nanak Nagar celebrated Teacher’s Day and Janamashtami. Students played the role of teacher. Usha Sharma, Principal distributed prizes among the extra-ordinary students.
Heaven Kingdom and Heaven’s Angel celebrated Teacher’s Day and Janamashtami. Various cultural items were presented by the students. Principal Renu Sachdeva threw light on the life of Lord Krishna, Dr S Radha Krishnan and Former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.
Mother Land Pubic High School, Budhal, celebrated Teacher’s day.

Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Kargil observed the Teacher’s Day at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall Kargil. Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Alhaj Hanifa Jan was the chief guest on the occasion. Executive Councilors, Aga Syed Abbas and Mohsin Ali were also present. During the function, students of the school presented colorful programmes and delivered speeches to honour their teachers.
Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chiralla celebrated Teacher’s Day by organizing an Inter-House Quiz competition, wherein the students were asked variety of questions on the life history of Dr S Radha Krishnan and on the topics of current affairs. Azad House got first position and was awarded by the chief guest, Shamim Ahmed, Vice-Principal of the school. Later, all the teachers paid floral tributes to picture of Dr Radha Krishnan.
Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of GHSS Saruinsar. A plantation drive was organized to mark the occasion. About 100 plants were planted around the school complex by the students, teachers as well as Principal of the school.
The students and staff of GGHSS Jakh (Samba) celebrated ‘Teacher’s Day’ with great zest and zeal in its school premises. A special morning assembly was held to pay floral tributes to Dr S Radha Krishnan. Principal, RL Gupta threw light on the personality and life style of Dr Radha Krishnan. Chief Education Officer, OP Bhagat also visited the school and interacted with the students. Adequate arrangements were also made for viewing the live address by the Prime Minister on DD News Channel.
GHSS Barolla (Udhampur) celebrated Teacher’s Day with great zeal and enthusiasm while paying homage to Dr S Radha Krishnan, a great philosopher and statesman apart from being the President of the India. Principal, Sarita Rani, was the chief guest. On the occasion, senior students posed as teachers and conducted the morning assembly and also taught the junior classes. Students also presented a colourful cultural programme.
In connection with Teacher’s Day, GGHSS Reasi organized a function in its premises. Various students threw light on the importance of day. Students took the command of entire academic work and conducted the morning assembly. A big screen was also installed in the school hall to watch Prime Minister’s speech and live interaction with the students of the country.
Teacher’s Day was also celebrated with great zeal at Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Purkhoo. The inaugural speech was given by Principal, Satish Pandita. A debate competition was also organized on the occasion and the 1st three winners were awarded accordingly.
128th Birth Anniversary of Dr S Radha Krishnan was also celebrated at GHSS Sai (RS Pura). Many students spoke on the occasion and threw light on the teachings of Dr Radha Krishnan. Poems and songs were also presented by the students. Principal, Vidyotama Gupta, greeted the teachers and impressed upon the students to respect their teachers.

A function in connection with Teacher’s Day was also organized at GBHS Ghass Mandi. Students presented gifts to their teachers as token of love. Headmistress, Sushma Kumari, threw light on the importance of the day. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
The Birth Anniversary of Dr Radha Krishnan was also celebrated at GHS Mand (Udhampur), where elaborate arrangements were made to listen the live speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on radio.

Government Boys Middle School, Old Janipur, celebrated Teacher’s Day with great enthusiasm in its school premises. A debate competition was also organized on the occasion. Students also presented various cultural items. Shri Krishna Janamashtmi was also celebrated on the occasion.
Government Middle School (GMS), Pull Tawi, also celebrated Teacher’s Day in its school premises. The students presented various cultural items. Headmistress, Madhu Tandon, distributed sweets among the students.
A colourful function was organized at GBMS Udheywala to celebrate Teacher’s Day. Susheela Sharma, ZEPO Jammu, was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Headmistress, Rajani Khajuria. The students presented various cultural items and games. A Symposia and debate was also held besides a painting competition. Students and teachers highlighted the biography of Dr S Radha Krishnan as a teacher, philosopher and reformer.
GMS Raipur celebrated Teacher’s Day with great fervor. Students also presented various cultural items on the occasion. A debate competition was also organized. School Incharge, Master Joginder Singh Manhas, in his address, highlighted the role of teachers in students’ life and in nation building.
A function regarding celebration of Teacher’s Day was also celebrated in GMS Basaani (Udhampur) in which Zonal Education Officer Tikri, KR Dogra was the chief guest. The programme started with paying floral tributes to Dr Radha Krishnan by the chief guest and the staff members of the school. Both teachers and students in their speeches threw light on the life of Dr S Radha Krishnan. Students also played the role of teachers and taught in the junior classes. Cultural items were also presented by the school children.
Paramount Convent School celebrated Janamashtami. Students participated in fancy dress competition, followed by cultural items. Principal Isha threw light on the importance of the festival.
St Mary’s Infant Pre School (SMIPS) celebrated Teacher’s Day in the premises of St. Mary’s Cathedral Church, Gandhi Nagar. The tiny tots of School along with the staff and management offered prayers for Dr Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan and lit candles in his fond memory. They were delighted to receive blessings from the Bishop of Diocese Jammu-Srinagar Rev Ivan Pereira, Parish priests Rev Fr Justine and sisters. Chairperson of the school, Anna Mary, Principal and Sheetal Anthony were also present.
Sprawling Buds School, Chinore celebrated Teacher’s Day. A special assembly was also held in which Akshi Sharma, Co-ordinator of the school apprised the students about the importance of the day. The students enacted a play about the life of Dr Radha Krishnan who was a great educationist.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Kidzee Play Way School, Reasi. Students attired as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha sung songs. Lectures were also delivered by the teachers and Principal on the significance of the day.
Green Field-The Foundation School celebrated Janamashtami and Teacher’s Day at Link Road and Gandhi Nagar branches. Children attired in colourful costumes danced on various songs related to Goddess Radhe and Lord Krishna. Principals Promila Sethi and Bhavana Sethi threw light on the importance of the Janamashtami and Teacher’s Day.
The Pathways International School, Kathua celebrated Teacher’s Day and Janamashtami. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chairman, Dr Divij Suri, Principal, Kunal Anand and the Coordinators, Shivali and Rishu. The students of the pre-primary section showcased three stages of the life of Lord Krishna, followed by dance performance by the students of primary section, modelling event.
Aglow Kids–A Playway School, Doordarshan Lane, Janipura celebrated Janamashtami and Teacher’s Day. Children presented variety of cultural programme on the life of Lord Krishna. Principal threw light on the importance of the day.
State Institute of Education (SIE) Jammu organized a programme in the conference hall of the institute to celebrate Teacher’s Day. The programme was organized under the chairmanship of HR Pakhroo, Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal, SIE Jammu. Mohd Javed Iqbal, Joint Director, SSA, Directorate of School Education, Jammu and Principal, DIET, Jammu, Mangal Dev, were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Pakhroo and Iqbal shed light on the contributions of Dr Radha Krishnan in the field of education.
The teachers of Ramban district under the banner of the All J&K Rehbar-e-Taleem Teacher’s Forum (RETTF) today observed the Teacher’s Day as the ‘Black Day’ and held a protest demonstration at Tourist Bungalow. The protesters also included the lady teachers working in the Kasturba Gandhi Ballika Vidyalaya (KGBV). They were protesting against the insensitive and apathetic attitudes of the State Government for not acceding to their long pending demands including non-payment of salaries for last about five months.
On the occasion of Janamashtami, the members of NGO ‘Jiyo Aur Jeene Do’ organized a cleanliness and plantation drive at the park near Venus Chowk of town as a part of “Green India , Clean India ” being continued by the NGO members. The members led by NGO president, Tariq Shah gathered in the park near Venus Chowk, Sailan Talab and cleaned the park and then planted many saplings to give a message of making environment green and clean.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj, a social volunteer organization working to promote education, environment and Nationhood among the general masses and students community in particular under the guidance of Col (Retd) R K Sharma, Chairman and Dr Daljeet Singh, President ABS celebrated “Teacher’s Day” at its Library at Bhour Camp Jammu with the message ‘Respect Teachers-Respect Educators’.
To celebrate Teacher’s Day, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Unison Cultural Troupe, Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM presented musical play ‘Gurukul’. The play was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra while the music was composed by Raju Bajgal. The programme was inaugurated by chief guest, VK Magotra.
Supertech (India) Computer Education celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr S Radha Krishnan as Teacher’s Day at Jagat Resort with great pomp and show. Chief guest, Danesh Rana, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, in his address stressed upon the role of the teacher in Nation’s building. Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, Senior Advocate J&K High Court, presided over the function. On the occasion, students performed various activities like singing and dancing.
A function to celebrate Janamashtami was organized today in 1st Step Tutorial, Janipur. Episodes based on Lord Krishna’s life from childhood to battle of Mahabharata, were presented by the students. Director of the Tutorial, Viney Gupta, also witnessed the event.
On Teacher’s Day ‘Success Gurus’ organized a debate competition on the topic ‘Importance of Education’. Many students participated in the debate competition and presented their views on the topic. The winners were given prizes by chief guest, Vijay Singh Rana.
Incredible Coaching Centre (ICI), Branch Patel Bazaar and Nagrota celebrated Teacher’s Day with great pomp and show in their respective premises. Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director, National Incredible Literacy Mission (NILM), Jammu, was the chief guest of the function at ICI Patel Bazaar. At both branches, students presented various cultural items and also threw light on the role of Dr Radha Krishnan in the field of education.
Act Institute organized a function on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. On the occasion, a cake was cut by the Institute Director, Nitin Mahajan. Students presented various cultural items including solo dances and songs.
On the significant occasion of Teacher’s Day, Vidya Mandir Classes (VMC), Bahu Plaza, Jammu organized a cultural event with all the students of VMC Jammu center. Students of VMC Jammu center relished the moment and delivered many creative performances. Later in the sequence faculties also rubbed shoulders with students and performed among them and recalled their school life.
