Janamashtami, Teacher’s Day celebrated

JAMMU, Sept 6: Janamashtami–the birthday of Lord Krishna and Teacher’s Day were celebrated with fervour and joy.
The students of Government Degree College (GDC) Gool celebrated Teacher’s Day. A symposium was organized on the topic “Necessity of Women Education and Women Empowerment” in which students of all schools of Gool area took part. Dr Chander Shekhar, Principal of the college was the chief guest who awarded the winners of the symposium.
Gandhi Memorial College of Education celebrated Teacher’s Day. AK Raina, general secretary HESK, HL Misri, eminent intellectual and Prof GL Koul, Principal GMCEJ were present. Various cultural programmes were presented by the students. Gifts were also distributed among the college staff.
Government Higher Secondary School, Malothi celebrated Teacher’s Day, in which students from various educational institutions participated. Principal GHSS Malothi appealed to the students to strive for innovation and imbibe the leadership qualities in themselves. Similar programme was organized at GHSS Sartingal Bhaderwah where Prime Minister’s speech was telecasted.
To celebrate birth of Lord Krishan, Art of Living organised a function at Shri Raghunath Temple. On the occasion, Senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi who was guest of honour was honoured by the organisers and a Shawl was presented as token of respect. Special Invitees SHO, City Shakti Devi and Shashi Khajuria, Secretary Dharmarth Trust along with new teachers of the Art of Living (AOL) Sushma and Kirti were also felicitated. Senior teachers of Art of Living Hemu Karki, Delair Singh and Subhash Sharma, Pawan Shastri, Jai Aggarwal and Ajay Kapoor were also present. Devotional singers from Art of Living mesmerized audience with lord Krishna bhajans and prominent singers who performed included Naresh from Bangalore Ashram, Kirti Kumar and Dr Aman Sharma from the AOL Jammu chapter. A Meditation session was also conducted and attended by hundreds of devotees from all sections of society of Jammu.
A fabulous and mesmerizing “Ek Sham Mahalaxmi Kanhaiya Ke Naam” was organised at Prachin Mahalaxmi Mandir, Pacca Danga. This programme was organised by Maha Laxmi Followers Mandal to celebrate Janamashtami. Various singers including Komal Sharma paid tribute to Maha Laxmi Mata and Lord Krishna through their songs. President, NMC, Subash Shastri, Secretary Dharmarth Trust Shashi Khajuria, BS Jamwal, Raman Arora, Kamal Sharma, President Jai Durga Yuva Samiti, Amit Luthra, Ashutosh Gupta, besides large number of people took part in the function. Special Pooja was performed by renowned priest Krishan Lal with vedic mantra.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Braham Kumari Ashram, Talab Tillo. Provincial president Gian Singh was chief guest whereas Raj Sharma and Vijay Magotra were guests of honour. The programme was presided over by Didi VK Sushma.
Janamashtami was celebrated in the Tri-Murti Mandir, Janipur Colony with religious fervour and gaiety. Large number of devotees drawn from different areas of Janipur took part in the function. Various stalls were organized on the occasion. 56 varieties of ‘Bhog’ were offered to the Lord Krishna.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Vaishno Devi Mata Mandir Bhagwati Nagar. Devotees in large number visited the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. Colourful jhankies were taken out, wherein the devotees sung and danced to the tunes of Bhajans. Lucky Baba apprised the people about the importance of the day.
Brahma Kumaris (BK) Geeta Pathshalla, Jakhani, Udhampur celebrated Janamashtami in the premises of Pandav Mandir near Ramnagar chowk Udhampur. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Udhampur, Dr Chander Parkash and Director Sports SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar were the special guests.  Prominent artists of the district presented Krishna Bhajans and Krishna Rass Leela.  Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Advocate SD Kotwal, Incharge BK Geeta Pathshalla, Didi Mamta, Bharma  Kumar from Maharashtra, Ashok, Diya, Sewadari of  Brahma Kumaris which include Brij Mohan, Chander Mohan, Khushi, Chander Mohan Khajuria, Jugal Kishore, Radhey Sham and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
To celebrate Janamashtami, Shri Martand Tirath Trust took out a Shobha Yatra at Mattan, district Anantnag. DC Anantnag Muneerul Aslam, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, SHO Mattan, president of the Trust AK Sidha, general secretary Saligram Bawnoo and other prominent persons were present on the occasion.
