POONCH, Dec 30: MLA Poonch, Ajaz Jan conducted an extensive tour of his Constituency wherein he distributed compensation cheques to the tune of Rs 63.54 lakh among the people whose land and houses were taken over by the PMGSY road project to Main Road Bedar to Dunnugam Poonch.
In the first phase the beneficiaries with small land holdings were covered while the process for the rest has been speeded up to ensure early disbursement. The ACR Poonch and Tehsildar Mandi who were accompanying the MLA assured the public that the process shall be completed within 20 days.
During the tour the work on road from Sathra to Bandi Kamma Khan was started under backward regions grant fund. The road is like a dream project for the residents of Bandi Khama Khan which was pending because of dispute in the area. The dispute was amicably resolved because of personal intervention of the MLA much to the relief of general public. Directions were issued to PWD Department. and BDO Mandi to complete the work on priority
Jan visited the remote and Mountainous area of Chella Dhangri, Atoli, Bandi Khama Khan and Bedar and inspected developmental Works carried out in these remote Border Panchayts. MLA addressed series of public meetings on the way and people raised demands of electricity connections, laying of water reservoir tanks, extension counter of ration depot at Chella Dhangri which is 8 K.M away from the existing Ration depot.
The main aim of the tour at border area along with a team of all district officers was to reach out to the people for the redressed of their Grievances at their door steps. The MLA also interacted with the elected SarPanches, Panches and advised them to be bridges between the Government and common masses and help the departments in executing various developmental schemes.
The outcome of such darbar was an immediate sanctioning of 63 KV transformer 20 Poles for Chela Dhangri and an assurance was sought XEN PDD to do the same in a months time.
