Officials said the accused, identified as Karan Kumar, was contacted about a month ago through Snapchat and WhatsApp by a Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO), who initially posed as a woman and befriended him.
After gaining his trust by sending obscene photographs and videos, they said the operative allegedly persuaded him to share information about security-related locations and vital flyover bridges in Jammu district.
Officials said Rs 2,000 was also transferred to his account as an inducement.
During the investigation, it was found that he had shared photographs of areas in Makwal and was being prepared to provide images of sensitive defence installations and flyover bridges in Jammu district, they said.
Before any such material could be shared, he was apprehended, officials said.
The accused has been booked under the stringent Enemy Agents Ordinance and further investigation is underway.
