SRINAGAR : The 300-km long national highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, has been closed due to landslides triggered by heavy rain. “We have not allowed any vehicle on the highway today following landslides at several place along the national highway triggered by heavy rain,” a traffic police official said. The traffic was scheduled to move from Srinagar to Jammu. Meanwhile, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway has already put into service sophisticated machines and men to clear the snow and landslides on the highway.
