JAMMU, Nov 9: Jammu Philatelic Festival cum Exhibition, organized by Senior Superintendent Post Offices, Jammu Division, concluded at Kala Kendra, here.
About 50,000 stamps on 90 frames were on display in the Exhibition.
Governor NN Vohra inaugurated the Exhibition yesterday, while the event concluded today.
Mohd Shafi Pandit, former Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission was the chief guest on the closing function, while Rajnish Kumar Jenaw, Controller of Communication Accounts was the guest of honour.
Nirmaljit Singh, Postmaster General, Jammu presided over the function.
Earlier, Gaurav Srivastava, Director Postal Services, J&K Circle presented welcome address.
A Special Cover on Almond Trees Kashmir was also released by the chief guest on this occasion.
A Philatelic Workshop, on the Spot Quiz and Painting Competition, Nukkad Natak and Write a Post Card activities planned for the two day event were also held.
During the morning session on first day about 150 students from different schools participated in different activities.
The second day also saw public in general and children in particular to flock the exhibition.
The chief guest felicitated the participating philatelists of the state whose collection was on the display during the two day Philatelic Festival cum exhibition. Around 30 philatelists had participated in the event.
The vote of thanks was presented by GR Parrey, Senior Superintendent Post Office, Jammu Division.
