JAMMU : The winter capital of the State today observed complete shutdown on the second day on a call given by the BJP against clean chit to Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in the August 9 Kishtwar riots.
The bandh remained peaceful as shops and other business establishments observed a complete shutdown.
Only private vehicles were seen plying on the road due to which commuters especially the Vaishno Devi pilgrims faced hardships to reach their destinations.
Schools and offices also witnessed thin attendances.
The BJP activists carrying banners amid slogans, monitored the situation during bandh.
Reports from other districts of the province said a partial bandh was also observed on the call.
BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma had yesterday said that the NC-led coalition Government must reveal the names of all the 300 persons who submitted their affidavits before the One Man Inquiry Commission on ‘communal assault’ on the minority community on the basis of which he gave a clean chit to former MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo.
Mr Kichloo was given clean chit by one man inquiry commission Justice (Retd) Gandhi Commission in Kishtwar clashes in which three persons were killed on August 9 while he (Kichloo) has also been re-inducted as Minister for State for Home in Omar’s Government. (AGENCIES)
