JAMMU, June 12: Chairman National Panthers Party and MLA Ramnagar Harshdev Singh has alleged that Jammu region was facing severe discrimination in power supply as compared to Kashmir valley.
In a press statement issued here today, the NPP leader lambasted the State Government  for the unprecedented power cuts being affected in Jammu region during the ongoing summer season which had caused tremendous hardships and inconvenience to the common man. Mr Singh alleged that the students are the worst sufferers and regretted that  despite persistent appeals to the Government to adhere to scheduled calendar on power supply and the repeated assurances of the Government, no action has been taken by the latter, thus, adding to the woes of the common man. He said that Jammu was the major suffer with the Government and its Ministers being mute spectators.
The NPP leader claimed that Jammu contributes nearly 66% to the power tariff while hardly 40 % power supply is given to the region. He also shared the figures of the power supply and the revenue generated in last four years.
