JAMMU, Dec 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi along with Corporator, Anil Masoom today conducted an extensive tour of Pakka Danga area and took stock of sanitation and ongoing works undertaken by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the area. Besides, Anil Masoom, he was accompanied by the officials of JMC including sanitary inspector and officials of PDD Department.
During the tour Yudhvir Sethi met shopkeepers, local residents and other people of the area who welcomed his gesture of being amongst them along with staff of various departments to take stock of the developmental issues. Those present on the occasion apprised Yudhvir Sethi of the construction works to be undertaken in Pakka Danga streets and adjoining areas on priority.
The sanitary inspector and officials of PDD were shown the dilapidated streets, drains and damaged electric poles and fixtures on them respectively and were also asked to carry out cleanliness drive and repairs of damaged street lights at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi laid stress on maintaining hygiene in the area by regular cleaning of streets, main roads and drains so that Pakka Danga being main attraction of city bazars stays clean.
He said Jammu East Constituency comprises of all the important markets like fashion-street, markets, localities, educational institutions, other business counters and green areas besides heritage complexes that need special attention by the Government. He said every effort will be put in to engage JMC, PHE, Health Department, JDA, PDD and allied departments including R&B to ensure that streets, roads, lanes and drains and other places of Jammu East stay perfect to the best use of public.
People of the area including the presidents of Bazaar Associations and local residents requested the duo to keep visiting the area regularly so that a check on the employees is maintained and city maintained to highest of standards as part of Swattch Bharat Abhiyan.
Ramesh Gupta, Ravi Singh, Nischal Anand and shopkeepers and residents of old city were present on the occasion.
