*Karra reads Sonia’s message to Cong workers

JAMMU, May 19: The Congress Party office in Jammu will be known as ‘Rajiv Bhawan’ from today onwards. JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra today inaugurated the renovated party office at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu and dedicated it in the name of Shaheed Rajiv Gandhi, in the presence of top leadership of the party from entire Jammu province including former ministers, former MLAs, MLCs; District heads, Block presidents, Ex Corporators and heads of frontal wings and large number of workers.
Karra unfurled the party flag at the entrance of the headquarters amidst singing of National Anthem and pulled the curtain over the name board of “Rajiv Bhawan ” in the presence of large gathering. Click here to watch video
Addressing the gathering, Karra read out the message of CPP Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi appreciating the move of JKPCC President and entire team to name the renovated party office Jammu in the name of ‘Rajiv Gandhi on the eve of his martyrdom day which falls on May 21.
Karra referred to the spirit behind the decision to name the Congress Party office here as Rajiv Bhawan and said that everyone visiting here will draw an inspiration and spirit of service and sacrifice for the nation.
Dedicating the full week in the commemorate the martyrdom of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Karra asked all district presidents and other leaders to hold functions on May 21, Rajiv Gandhi’s martyrdom day and all other days in different parts in the memory of martyr, who sacrificed his life for the nation.
He recalled his contributions and visionary steps during his stewardship which included his peace initiatives within country and international levels.
The function was also addressed by working president, Raman Bhalla, former MP Ch Lal Singh, Ex Minister Mula Ram, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, DCC president Jammu Urban Yogesh Sawhney and Ex- MLA Indu Pawar.
