JAMMU, Oct 13: Amit Malhotra, son of Brig PS Malhotra (Retd) and Aruna Malhotra, resident of Ampbhalla, Jammu has made his debut in Zee TV’s popular serial ‘Zindagi ki Mehek’ which is broadcasted at 8 PM on week days.
Playing the role of a food critic in the TV serial, Amit Malhotra is an actor, theatre talent, voice over artist, anchor and a motivational speaker.
An alumini of BSF Senior Secondary School and SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, Amit is an MBA by profession and believes in following his passion and has acted in many TV commercials and corporate films of well known brands like SAAVN music app, Times of India Literature Fest, Polo Mint, Maruti Suzuki, The Joy of Giving week, WWF, Tata Sky, Indian Railways, Omaxe Builders to name a few.
A professionally qualified actor from Barry John Acting studio, Delhi, Amit says acting comes naturally to him. While sharing his body of work, his most recent TV commercial for Omaxe Builders which was shot in Chandigarh was special as he got to work with Bollywood legend Hema Malini, an experience to be cherished for a lifetime.
Laughing on his uncanny resemblance with the famous Times Now news anchor, Arnab Gosswami, he has spiffed him up in two of his projects Saavn music app and Polo Mint. Many production houses have approached him to play the famous news anchor.
He has also had the honor of working with Bollywood actress, Konkana Sen Sharma in a theatre production which was performed by the famous theatre group ‘Silk Route’ in Tollygunj Club, Kolkata.
As a student in Jammu he used to often give talks in Yuvani service of All India Radio, Panjthirthi on various socially relevant issues. While he has anchored more than 100 LIVE shows across the country he recollects anchoring a show for J&K Bank and MetLife in Hari Niwas Palace in 2008 and says it was a special show as it was his first anchoring assignment in his hometown Jammu.
While he is extremely happy with the work he has done, he is looking forward to playing a challenging and path breaking role.
