Reports said that Jammu bound Indigo flight No. 6E 2184 had to take off from Delhi airport at 5.30 pm on Friday, however, the flight was delayed by an hour due to bad weather in Jammu region. There was massive hue and cry in the aircraft and the women and children started crying for the safety. Some passengers stood up and started moving here and there in panic. But the flight crew members issued safety warnings. The pilot, however, managed to control the aircraft and it remained hovering over Jammu skies for over half an hour for landing. But the air-traffic control unit at the Jammu airport directed the pilot to divert the flight to Amritsar.
One of the passengers on board from Jammu, Th Balwan Singh said that over 180 passengers had miraculous escape after the flight was caught in bad weather over Jammu and developed severe ‘turbulence’.
