Jammu based reserved category employees’ protest enters 56th day

JAMMU, July 25: A peaceful protest of All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association Kashmir continued for consecutive 56th day, today in the incessant rains at Ambedkar Chowk Park, Jammu. Hundreds of Jammu based employees from various departments rendering their services in Kashmir Division are on continuous peaceful protest since June, 1 after the 9th target killing of Rajni Bala teacher.
Association welcomed the decision of Lt Governor shared by official tweet of the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, for constituting a committee headed by Principal Secretary, GAD to examine the long pending demand of transfer policy for reserved category employees as has been discussed and assured  by the Lt Governor during the earlier meeting held on 27.06.2022 at Governor House Jammu regarding three-point genuine demands, including formation of a comprehensive time bound transfer policy, utilization of services of employees in their respective districts and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties in prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
A delegation of all Jammu based employees working in Kashmir Division led by Vipan Kumar and others, met with the Ex-Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh and Ex- Minister, Dr Davinder Manyal and apprised them about the long pending demand of transfer policy of Jammu based employees in Kashmir division to their domicile districts and also for taking cognizance on the issue of  salary of the Jammu based employees which is being kept withheld by some DDOs of different departments of Kashmir division and issuing of necessary directions to the Kashmir administration for release of salary of the employees as they leave the station under Article 21 – Right to Life.
Both the leaders extended their full support to the employees for their justified demands. Dr.Nirmal Singh called Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for issuance of formal orders for release of salary of protesting employees. They also assured that soon they will take up the grievances of protesting employees with the LG JKUT for early redressal.
