UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: Demanding regularization of daily wagers and release of their pending wages, Jal Shakti (PHE) Employees & Workers Association held strong protest at PHE Complex Udhampur, here today.
The large number of employees and workers drawn from Ramnagar, Majouri, Kulwanta, Mansar, Majalta, Khoon, Tikri, Jib Thathi, Panchari, Chenani, Sudhmahadev, Patnitop and other far flung areas of District Udhampur participated in the protest demonstration, held under the leadership of Som Nath, President Jal Shakti Employees & Workers Association.
The protesting employees shouted slogans against UT Govt for not redressing the genuine and long pending demands of the PHE daily wagers. They were demanding regularization Policy for CP/ITI/Land case workers, release of pending wages, engagement of more workers, conduct of DPC, repair/construction of duty rooms, issuance of T&P article and revival of Old Pension Scheme.
Som Nath, while addressing the gathering, alleged that UT Govt was not serious to address the issues of daily wagers, who are agitating since long for their genuine demands like release of pending wages and regularization.
He also accused the UT administration of harassing the daily wagers and employees of all the departments. “The UT administration is asking all the employees and workers to daily mark their Biometric attendance for which the employees are made to travel more than 40 kms to reach their divisional office,” he said and added that the workers can do only one work at a time; either they can mark their Boimetric attendance or do their work at their site of water supply.
Som Nath also drew attention towards other demands and sought basic facilities to the workers who are forced to workers are performing their duties in extreme hostile condition. He appealed to all the employees and workers to remain united for the genuine cause of the daily wagers.
Others who spoke during the protest demonstration, included Vijay Sharma, Suraj Parkash, Dinesh Kesar, Makhan Chand, Jagdish Magotra, Javed, Krishan Chand, Parath Singh, Ashok Kumar, Karan Singh, Prem Nath, Karan Singh, Shambu Nath and Janit Ali.
