KATHUA, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JAKSAC) has urged upon the Central Government to provide one time settlement package for the PoK Displaced Persons (DPs) of 1947.
“The DPs of 1947 from PoK are still waiting their adequate one time settlement and are looking with great hope towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” Bhushan Sharma, district president of JAKSAC Kathua said while addressing a press conference here today.
He made a humble appeal to Modi and Amit Shah to show their strong will to settle the long pending settlement of DPs from PoK as per the recommendation of JPC on Home Affairs to safeguard the future of their generations in J&K.
Hailing the Citizenship Amendment Act, Bhushan said it has brought new life to the lakhs of refugees migrated from neighbouring Islamic countries after suffering worst kind of victimization and discrimination for the decades.
He said under the social anti-human circumstances in neighbouring Islamic countries, the Hindu/Sikh minorities have all right to look towards India, the country of their ancestors. “The passages of bill/law, a legitimate long pending demand of these minorities have served justice and now they can lead their lives with dignity and honour,” he added.
