Jain Higher Secondary School emerges winner in National Group Song Competition

JAMMU, Oct 7: BVP Jammu East today held National Group Song Competition at GCW, Parade.
On the occasion, Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East was the chief guest while Dr Aruna Dubey, Principal GCW Parade, Ashok Gupta, Director ASL Tutorials and Dr Manmohan Singh were the guest of honour.
Arun Sharma narrated rules and regulations of the Competition. The competition was held in two Categories–Hindi and Sanskrit in which seven schools and 13 teams participated.
The judges were Prof Anupama Sharma, Prof Kuldeep Raina and Prof Jasmeet Kaur, all from PG Department of Music, GCW Parade. Only Indian Music was allowed in this competition.
Rajesh Gupta appealed to boycott Chinese goods in national interest, while Dr Manmohan Singh, Ashok Gupta and Dr Arjuna Dubey said that such type of competitions must be held in each and every educational institution of the State every year.
In the neck to neck competition, SM Jain Higher Secondary School, Jammu stood first and qualified for State level competition to be held on October 15, whereas second and third positions were clinched by Environment Educational Institute Jullaka Mohalla and Dewan Badri Nath School Mubarak Mandi respectively.
Among others present were Dev Raj Sharma, Dr Santos Gupta, SN Sharma, Amita Sharma, Usha Anand, NR Gupta, Chander Mohan Gupta, Bansi Lal, Chaman Lal, Sumit Mahajan, etc.
The proceedings of the programme and comparing were jointly conducted by Jyotsna Sharma and Gopal Sharma.
In the end, Rakesh Gupta presented vote of thanks.
