JAMMU, Aug 23: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Migrant Cell leaders, Sanjay Dhar and P L Thusoo, social activists of Jagti township Sunil Pandita and Vijay Koul have expressed serious concern over water scarcity in the Jagti township.
In their separate statements they urged the Government to take steps on war footing basis in restoration of water supply to Jagti township in view of the serious problems being faced by the inmates living there in this hot and humid Summer.
They said the water scarcity has been a common problem in the Jagti township since its construction as authorities failed to find an alternative and construct a viable scheme to find an everlasting solution to it.
They said the water supply often remains cut off during rainy season as the prevailing scheme turns defunct during this period. Despite the repeated pleas the concerned authorities failed to take action and settle the issue which is cause of grave concern.
