JAMMU, Dec 25: The inhabitants of Jagti township have expressed serious concern over power cuts in the area and accused the authorities of not taking any step in bettering the power supply to the township despite repeated pleas.
Sunil Pandita and Ashok Kumar social activists of the township said that power curtailment of over 10 hours has led to problems of the inmates there especially the students whose exams are nearing, old and infirm people.
They also expressed concern over withholding of supply of flour to migrants for last seven months and said that the people dependent on cash relief of Rs 10,000 to 12,000 can’t afford the flour from market on high rates.
They urged the Government to release the flour quota in favour of migrants immediately. While expressing solidarity with package and reserved category employees they demanded immediate release of their salaries and relocation to Jammu till situation turns fully normal in Kashmir.
