JAMMU, Sept 19: Expressing their serious concern over acute water scarcity in Jagti township the camp inmates in a meeting today urged the Government to take immediate steps in restoring the water to camp.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Sunil Pandita, a social activist said that the township is facing water scarcity for last fortnight with authorities taking no pains in restoring the same. They said despite the repeated pleas to Government neither the tapped water supply has been restored nor the water tankers were put into service to cater to the needs of the people and defuse crisis.
The meeting in an appeal to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, sought his immediate intervention in the matter and urged him to issue directives to concerned officials to restore the water supply to the township.
