IYA organizes health awareness camp

JAMMU, Jan 10: The J&K chapter of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) today organised a one day awareness programme-“Revive your health through Yoga and Naturopathy”-here at Senior Citizen Day Care Centre, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu.
Pertinently, IYA is an apex body of Yoga in India, with Sri Sri Ravishankar as its Chairman.
During the opening of the program, Dr Shreyansh Jain, Chairman IYA-SCC said, “Old age is not a disease and one can manage the natural health by adapting to synchronising with the nature and its five elements viz. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and space.”
Himself a senior citizen and ardent follower of yoga, Dr Jain gave a detailed account of his daily routine in line with the nature and naturopathy.
The other key speaker, Er Anil Swaraj, who is also the secretary of the IYA-SCC J&K UT, gave a detailed knowledge of several breathing techniques including Suksham Asana, Ashtang Yoga Philosophy, Vedic prayers, health wisdom based on slokas from Ayurveda and naturopathy which enriched the audience with a new approach to manage their old age health issues.
He also demonstrated several easy yoga practices to the elderly citizens present in the camp.
As per a statement, Advocate Chander Mohan, Chairman Legal Cell IYA, gave a welcome note and Sudha Chander, Joint Secretary IYA presented the vote of thanks.
It said that the senior citizen centre team was led by its Chairman, Pawan Choudhary. Coordination Committee members of the Senior Citizen Centre-Ram Gopal Sharma, KD Singh, Shiv Dev Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Deepak Arora, Yashpal Sharma were also part of the main organising committee for successfully conducting the event.
