Srinagar, May 25: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) today celebrated the successful implementation of the Government’s flagship skill programme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0.
IUST launched the Kalam Academy of Skill Development and Training. Alok Kumar, the chief guest, commended the University for its efforts in bridging skill gaps and ensuring the employability of the youth.
Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo expressed gratitude to the government for its support and emphasised the significance of initiatives like PMKVY in the age of innovation and entrepreneurship. He highlighted IUST’s measures for promoting multidisciplinary learning, introducing vocational courses, and fostering an innovative spirit among students.
The chief guest toured the campus, visited the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, the Food Sciences and Technology department, and the Computer Science and Engineering department. He inaugurated the skill development programmes and lauded IUST’s achievements, including the 3.5-star ranking awarded by the Institution Innovation Council of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
