IT Deptt achieved milestone under IDS despite unrest: Sangeeta

JAMMU, Oct 7: Principal Commissioner Income Tax J&K Circle, Sangeeta Gupta today said that department has achieved milestone under the Income Declaration Scheme despite unrest in Kashmir valley and its impact on some districts of Jammu region.
Addressing a function organized here today on completion of Income Declaration Scheme, Sangeeta Gupta said, “despite disturbances in several parts of State, the J&K Circle of Income Tax Department has topped the entire North West Region in terms of realization of black money as well as number of declarations”, adding “this has become possible due to the strenuous efforts of the department as well as cooperation extended by the people”.
On the occasion, she presented a letter of “Appreciation For Contribution in Nation Building” to Raman Suri, who is the first Gover-nment Approved Registered Valuer of Jewellery in J&K.
“Raman Suri, who is also Chairman of Sarafa Association and Swarnkar Sangh Joint Action Committee Jammu Province, has proved his abilities this time also by providing his selfless services—without charging any fee from the declarants of IDS”, the Principal Commissioner said.
Speaking on the occasion, Raman Suri said that when he saw Income Tax Commissioner, Sangeeta Gupta and her team striving hard to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he decided to contribute in nation building by providing selfless and free services to all declarants.
