JAMMU, Nov 5: J&K Action Committee for Students Right today demanded issuance of the LPG cylinder to the migrated students within the State on BPL rate.
This was demanded by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Jigmet Rabgais, student leaders, J&K Action Committee for Students Right, during a press conference.
They said that the LPG cylinders should be issued on account of institutional student ID proof, PRC, current residential proof and other requirements.
“The limited supply of subsidized LPG cylinders would affect thousands of migrated students and compel them to purchase non-registered cylinders in black by paying hefty amounts”, they said, adding, that despite price hike of LPG cylinders, the migrated students are not getting cylinders legally.
They demanded smooth LPG cylinder supply on reasonable price and ration supply on BPL rates, fixation of reasonable rental price for the rooms as per constitutional provision of “House and Shops Rent Control Act 1966” and other demands of students of the State, particularly migrated students of Ladakh.
Among others present were Jigmet Dorjey, cashier AZSU, Thinles Angchuk, Ex cashier ALSAJ, Stanzin Timet, Tashi Namgyal, Rigzin Angchuk and Stanzin Norbu.
